Job Title: Digital Content and Communications Officer

Working For: Josh Dean MP (Hertford and Stortford)

Location: London

Salary: £30,000 - £37,000

Job Details

This role will normally be based in the Westminster office from Monday to Thursday, while on Friday they will be out and about with Josh in his constituency.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end high quality, high engagement, video content to promote the MP’s’ work and campaigns across the constituency– including content ideation, and filming and editing short-form and long-form pieces tailored for a range of channels, including Instagram, Facebook, X, Bluesky, YouTube, Linked In and TikTok.
  • Accompany the MPs to visits and events across the constituency, capturing and creating compelling content.
  • Produce visual assets for social media using software such as Canva.
  • Proactively lead on digital strategy.
  • Edit and subtitle video clips using tools such as Canva and Capcut.
  • Produce a monthly digital newsletter.
  • Manage the MPs’ websites and monitor social media channels.
  • Monitor analytics for all forms of communication.
  • Suggest content ideas, formats and trends to grow reach and engagement.
  • Manage relationships with media and draft content for media, such as press releases and articles, where relevant; and monitor media coverage.
  • Provide proactive communications support for local issue-based campaigns.
  • Support in responding to residents’ campaign enquiries.
  • Manage and monitor social media enquiries and comments, ensuring that they are either responded to or, if more complex, passed to the relevant team member.
  • Provide copy for a range of uses within the team.
  • Ensure records and assets are kept, and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
  • Suggest improvements to the MP's communications strategy.
  • There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours, including attending events with the MP as required.

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong skills and experience in digital content creation and delivery.
  • Understanding of digital media trends.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and use initiative, with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable requirements

  • Knowledge of the constituency.
  • Experience of working in politics.
  • Experience of working with the media.

Interview/Start Dates

Interview process: online interviews will take place during w/c 13 July 2026. In-person interviews will then take place in Westminster on Thursday 23 July and Friday 24 July 2026

Start date: from mid August onwards, dependant on gaining security clearance

Closing date: 10am on Monday 6 July 2026
