An exciting opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused Executive Assistant to support a busy constituency office. This role is central to ensuring effective administration, financial management, and coordination of the MP’s constituency activities.
This position would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent organisational skills,& takes pride in maintaining accurate records and systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office
• Manage the MP’s diary and inbox, including triaging correspondence & allocating casework
• Coordinate visits, meetings, and events, including logistics and briefing support; accompany the MP where required
• Oversee office administration, systems, and governance processes, ensuring deadlines and priorities are tracked
• Lead on IPSA administration and budgeting, including processing invoices, expenses, & maintaining records
• Manage suppliers, contracts, & facilities, including liaison with service providers
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding & staff administration, including HR records
• Liaise with stakeholders, including local authorities, community organisations, and businesses
• Support communications, constituency activity, & provide ad hoc admin support
Person Specification
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience in administration, finance, or office management
• Ability to work independently & proactively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Discretion in handling sensitive information
• Experience with IPSA processes (desirable, not essential)
• Interest in politics and public service (desirable)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting colleagues
