Charlotte Cane MP is seeking a committed and highly organised Caseworker to join her constituency office team in person.

The Caseworker will support Charlotte in being an active, impactful, and approachable Member of Parliament. You will provide advice and practical support to constituents on a wide range of issues, including housing, welfare, and public services, while managing a significant and often sensitive caseload.

The role will involve liaising with government departments, local authorities, voluntary organisations, and other agencies to help resolve individual cases effectively.

Duties include:
• Assist surgeries and constituency meetings 
• Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face
• Draft responses to constituents
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP
• Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
• To manage and progress a varied caseload of constituent enquiries, including both individual casework matters and those relating to policy.

Essential Skills and Qualities

• Manage and prioritise a large, varied caseload, including sensitive and complex cases
• Respond calmly and effectively to urgent situations at short notice
• Use sound judgement to recognise risk, escalate concerns and keep information confidential
• Manage expectations sensitively in challenging circumstances
• Communicate clearly and draft letters, emails and case notes to a high standard
• Use Microsoft Office and casework systems confidently
• Develop specialist casework knowledge
• Work independently and as part of a small team
• Show discretion, professionalism and empathy

Desirable Skills and Experience
• Experience in parliamentary roles or casework is ideal.
• Knowledge of the constituency.
• Familiarity with Caseworker MP software, and/or CRM systems.
