Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team supporting Matt Vickers MP, Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party and Member of Parliament for Stockton West.
This is a hands-on campaigning role at the heart of one of the Party's key constituencies in the North East. Working directly with Matt and alongside the Regional Campaign Team, you will help deliver an ambitious campaign programme as we build towards the 2027 Local Elections and beyond.
We're looking for someone who thrives on a challenge, enjoys working with people and wants to make a real difference. This is not a desk-based role. It is about leading campaigns, building volunteer teams and ensuring campaigning is delivered to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading campaigning activity across Stockton.
- Delivering a campaign plan for the 2027 Local Elections.
- Recruiting, motivating and supporting volunteers and activists.
- Organising campaign sessions, action days and canvassing.
- Managing doorstep and telephone canvassing programmes.
- Coordinating campaign literature, print schedules and delivery networks.
- Working with councillors and candidates to identify campaign priorities.
- Attending Association meetings and campaign events.
- Monitoring campaign activity and supporting neighbouring target seats when required.
About you
You will ideally have:
- Experience campaigning for the Conservative Party (paid or voluntary).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The confidence to work with elected representatives, candidates and volunteers.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to motivate others and deliver results.
- The flexibility to work evenings and weekends during campaign periods.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Experience producing campaign literature or using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar software would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to play a leading role in one of the Party's most ambitious campaign operations. Working directly with Matt Vickers MP, you will take real responsibility, help shape campaigning across Stockton and contribute to building a winning campaign ahead of the 2027 Local Elections.
If you enjoy elections, grassroots campaigning and building successful teams, we'd love to hear from you.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
