Job Details
Emma Foody MP is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and communication, digital and video skills to support her work in Parliament and the Cramlington and Killingworth constituency. The post is available full time for a six-month period covering maternity leave, working in Westminster or the constituency.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Produce clear, engaging and creative digital content across multiple platforms and develop engaging, targeted content across a range of channels.
• Manage and update social media channels with a strong, responsive, and professional online presence
• Monitor media coverage, liaise with the media, meeting deadlines as appropriate
• Other duties as may be reasonably directed from time to time.
Person specification
Essential:
• Experience working in a similar digital communications role in politics, trade unions, third sector campaigns or industry.
• Experience of filming and editing videos and photographs using Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Canva or similar.
• Creativity, self-motivation and enthusiasm.
• A strong awareness of current affairs and the political landscape and/or experience working in political or campaigning environment
Desirable:
Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party and Co-operative movement
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
