Job Details

Brighton & Hove Labour Party is recruiting a full-time, fixed-term campaign role to help secure a second term as a Labour majority council at the local elections in May 2027.

For more info, please see - https://www.bhlabour.uk/were-hiring-digital-officer-organiser/

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands modern campaigning happens everywhere: on the doorstep, in meetings, through leaflets, on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and local media.

You will work across the city, from Portslade to Saltdean, supporting branches, councillors, candidates and volunteers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and publishing campaign content across digital and print, including leaflets, graphics, social posts and short-form video.
  • Creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and other key channels.
  • Turning Labour’s record and priorities into clear, engaging campaign messages.
  • Writing, editing and proofreading copy for social media, leaflets, emails, press materials and campaign literature.
  • Supporting branches with leaflet rounds, door knocking, campaign days and volunteer activity.
  • Recruiting, supporting and motivating volunteers.
  • Identifying local supporters, endorsers, community voices and influencers.
  • Improving communication with branches, members, councillors, candidates and the wider Labour Party.
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required.
  • We are looking for someone with strong political judgement, a commitment to Labour values, experience creating digital content, good writing skills, confidence working with a wide range of people, and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The key requirement is being able to travel regularly across Brighton & Hove.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be at the centre of a major local election campaign, shape Labour’s message across the city, and help keep Brighton & Hove moving forward under a Labour council.
