This is an exciting opportunity to join UK Finance’s Public Affairs and Policy team and gain first-hand experience of political engagement, public policy and advocacy at the heart of the UK’s financial services sector.
Working alongside experienced public affairs professionals, you will help colleagues understand political developments, support our engagement with Parliament and stakeholders, and contribute to our wider advocacy activities.
In doing so, you will develop practical skills in research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, while building an understanding of Westminster, Whitehall and the wider political landscape.
Some key responsibilities:
Working with colleagues across the Public Affairs and Policy team, wider Corporate Affairs function and UK Finance policy teams, your responsibilities will include:
Track political, parliamentary and legislative developments relevant to UK Finance, helping colleagues stay informed about key events, announcements and emerging issues.
Conduct research on political stakeholders, policymakers and policy issues, providing analysis and briefing material to support our advocacy activity.
Support the delivery of UK Finance’s external engagement programme, including meetings, events and stakeholder activities.
Contribute to public affairs projects and wider team activities as required, including the smooth running of our regular External Affairs Committee member meetings, and our weekly Member Bulletin update.
