The Parliamentary Research Service (PRS) is a pooled research facility for Labour MPs.

Key skills:
• Excellent written communication
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Good oral communication and networking skills
• Ability to interact comfortably with senior politicians
• Numeracy and an understanding of data and statistics
• Knowledge of Parliament, and UK and Scottish politics
• The ability work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
Key responsibilities:
• Drafting policy-related correspondence replies to constituents
• Drafting briefing notes on issues
• Provide support for other parliamentary activity
• Willingness to accept critical feedback and to learn
Requirements:
• Existing documented right to work in the UK
• Experience in policy, parliamentary or a relevant business environment is desirable, but we are also looking for potential and aptitude
• Fluent English
You should bear in mind that PRS’s subscribers are Labour MPs and you must be comfortable supporting them in their parliamentary duties.
The first four months is a probationary period in which you will undertake an assessment process for which we provide the necessary training and support throughout. After the probationary period you will continue to complete the contract subject to reaching required performance levels.
