Job Title: Caseworker

Salary: £26,039 - £40,533

Job Details

• You will engage with constituents confidentially, via telephone enquiries, emails, face to face and social media.
• You will manage individual cases ensuring they are logged and progressed with all identified actions taken.
• You will keep all information and records confidential and in line with data protection legislation.
• You will assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up action as appropriate.
• You will be responsible for gathering relevant information and/or evidence to progress cases accordingly.
• You will be expected to liaise with NGO’s, Government, Local Authorities and the voluntary sector as part of your day to day responsibilities.
• As part of a team you will be managing a large caseload of often complex, and sometimes distressing casework that you will undertake in a caring and sensitive manner.
• You may be asked to reply to enquiries about Government Policy
• On occasion you will be expected to research and then brief the MP on any number of topics, including analysing patterns of enquiries using the relevant software.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and travel for work occasionally.

• Excellent organisational skills
• Experience of Microsoft tools including Word, Exel and Outlook.

Key Skills Desirable
• Previous experience of carrying out casework either working in an MP’s office or another similar organisation
• Strong political awareness and understanding of current affairs and drafting responses to policy inquiries from constituents.

• Full Driving Licence

• Experience of Databases and data analysis

• Previous diary management experience
