The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking a Senior International Policy & Data Analyst to join our Policy Directorate. This key specialist role will develop the quantitative evidence gathering and analysis that underpins the work of the Academy’s Global Strategy, Policy & Engagement Team.
The role
This is an exciting new role within the Global Strategy, Policy & Engagement Team. You will lead the Academy’s international policy and data work, acting as the team’s expert on quantitative evidence gathering, including primary and secondary analysis, modelling and dissemination. You will identify data, evidence, gaps and trends to support the Academy’s goal of shaping international policy, particularly in demonstrating the value of the SHAPE disciplines, knowledge systems strengthening and equitable partnerships.
Working with colleagues, Academy Fellows and external stakeholders across research, policy and practice, you will lead projects within the Academy’s international policy and engagement portfolio. You will take a proactive, collaborative approach to building a strong quantitative evidence base, using data gathering, analysis and visualisation to support the Academy’s international work.
The role will work closely with colleagues in the Higher Education & Research Policy team and those supporting the SHAPE Observatory. Working across the Global Strategy, Policy & Engagement Team, you will contribute to programmes covering EU research and innovation, international mobility policy, global research and innovation, global (dis)order, and humanity, climate and nature. The primary focus will be on EU research and innovation, international mobility policy, and global research and innovation.
