Job Title: Islington Organiser

Salary: £42,201.69 pa

Length of Contract: A year from the start date with the possibility of an extension subject to funding and performance

Job Details

The Islington Organiser will be responsible for the day-to-day aspects of Labour Party campaigning and organisation across the borough, supporting councillors in their work as well as working towards the 2028 London Mayor and London Assembly elections as well as the General Election.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Enabling and empowering campaign units to organise and campaign in their local communities, ensuring year round community and voter engagement.
2. Develop a local campaign plan together with the elected representatives, candidates and local stakeholders and deliver on that campaign plan and meet monitored targets.
3. Recruit, develop and train teams of volunteers and support them on organising, campaigning and election techniques including the use of Labour Party campaign tools. 
4. Organise regular campaigning sessions and leaflet distribution with activists and volunteers.
5. Maintain campaign records and data to monitor activity and results across the Borough.
6. Organise and support campaigning in target groups and minority communities.
7. Identify and support potential candidates for local elections.
8. Design and produce print materials including leaflets and direct mails promoting the activities of Labour councillors, Assembly Members, and MP's.
10. Design and deliver digital campaigns and materials, including targeted content, website management, and online petitions.
11. Work to design and deliver community campaigns with impact for residents.
12. Organise and run public events on community and campaigning issues.
13. To act as legal election agent for elections and by-elections as required. (NB: Training will be provided for this if required).
14. Develop and deliver local fundraising schemes, ensuring elected representatives across the borough have adequate funding to contest elections, campaign and organise in their local communities.
15. Report on the level of all activity, organisation and the effective operation of Party rules in the area to the London Regional Office, and to work with them in support of the party more broadly, for example assisting with other local council, parliamentary by-elections when required and agreed by the Islington Labour Group and the local CLP's.
