We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join our award-winning Health Team for a six-month paid internship programme, aimed at people looking to develop a career in communications and public affairs.
You will be part of a dynamic team working across several accounts in Lexington’s UK and global client portfolio. You will play an integral role supporting teams to solve some of the world’s biggest healthcare challenges.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring: Undertaking media and political monitoring for a range of clients.
• Content creation: Support with the development of engaging content for clients, including press releases, stakeholder outreaches, pitch notes, briefings, and social and website copy.
• Research: Conduct research on industry trends, media contacts and competitor activity to inform client strategies and new business opportunities.
• Event coordination: Support with event planning and execution such as parliamentary events, press conferences and media briefings.
• Client support: Help maintain strong relationships with clients, supporting the team to meet project deadlines.
• Administrative tasks: Support the team and clients with day-to-day administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the UK political landscape and global health systems, business issues, and the wider media landscape.
We are looking for someone who is:
• An excellent writer, capable of writing in a number of different styles
• Positive, with a can-do attitude
• Organised, with strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail
• A good understanding of UK politics and the issues affecting businesses and charities
• A good understanding of press and media channels and trends in the UK and internationally
• Prepared to work hard and always carry out tasks to the highest possible standard
Previous experience is not a requirement. The role would suit a recent graduate looking to start a career in public affairs and communications with an interest in the health sector.
Many previous interns have secured a full-time position following the internship, with a decision based on business and team needs.
The role is based in our London office, with a required 3 days per week in the Holborn office.
