Job Details
Laurence Turner MP is seeking to recruit a Senior Campaigns and Communications Officer to support his work in the constituency and in Parliament.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of success in digital or print campaigning in a third sector, political, or trade union context.
This role is full time and constituency office based, although the postholder will be expected to work and undergo training in London on an occasional basis and as required. Requests for flexible working arrangements will be considered.
Key responsibilities
• Planning and executing focused campaigns on agreed issues.
• Producing and tailoring videos for a range of channels (ie. long-form, short-form, and for different platforms).
• Maintain and develop a number of different social media channels – including Meta platforms and the website.
• Working closely with other staff to identify issues of wider interest to constituents in the constituency and in Parliament that are suitable for conversion to campaigns.
• Design and production of high-quality printed material, such as newsletters and surveys.
• Developing and maintaining press relationships and drafting and issuing press releases.
• Other duties as may be reasonably directed from time to time.
Experience
• Experience of producing videos and print material to a professional standard.
• A strong awareness of current affairs and prior experience in a campaigning role in a political, third sector, or trade union environment.
• Creativity, self-motivation and enthusiasm.
• A demonstrable sympathy and commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
