Job Details

Laurence Turner MP is seeking to recruit a Constituency Assistant to support his work in Birmingham Northfield constituency.

This role would be ideal for someone who wants to build up their experience, and a range of skills, in a political setting, and who is motivated by helping people in the community.

This role is advertised as full time and constituency office based. Requests for flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Main responsibilities

• Prepare responses to casework and policy enquiries and take on full responsibility for individual cases, as allocated.

• Organise constituency events and take on responsibility for individual projects.

• Provide cover during intensive projects, such as large mailouts.

• Monitor and respond to social media comments and casework enquiries.

• Assist with filming and captioning social media content.

• Assist with updating the website.

Experience and characteristics

• 
Enthusiasm and high standards of team working. 

• The role will suit fast learners who can cover multiple tasks over the same period of time.

• Good writing skills

• Knowledge of GDPR and experience of Casework Management Systems, or a demonstrable ability to learn quickly. 

• Sympathy for the aims and values of the Labour Party.
