Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated, politically aware and organised individual to join my London office as a Parliamentary Assistant & Communications Officer.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed research and analysis on a wide range of policy and constituency issues.
• Monitor and interpret legislation, parliamentary business, debates, etc.
• Brief MP on key national and local developments, ensuring they are fully prepared for parliamentary proceedings.
• Prepare briefing notes, questions, speeches, reports, etc.
• Draft amendments and provide support for parliamentary reports and inquiries.
• Monitor local, regional and national media coverage and identify issues of relevance.
• Draft external communications, including speeches, press releases and public statements.
• Manage and produce a monthly newsletter using Mailchimp.
• Create, edit and publish engaging social media content.
• Update and maintain website content.
• Develop targeted communications campaigns across a range of platforms.
• Monitor social media activity and provide insight on emerging trends and constituent concerns.
• Advise on policy issues.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, parliamentary colleagues, etc.
• Assist with casework and constituency projects as required.
• Provide diary management support - London diary.
The successful candidate will be:
• An excellent researcher with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A confident writer capable of producing high-quality documents.
• Good understanding of UK parliamentary processes and current affairs.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Experienced in digital communications, social media, website management and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
• Previous experience working in Parliament, politics, public affairs, local government or a related environment.
