Job Details

About the role

We're looking for a sharp, energetic all-rounder to help run the constituency office of David Williams MP. This is a job for someone who can come in on Monday and take charge of the social media, spend Tuesday helping resolve a resident's casework, and never says "that's not my job." You'll lead our digital presence — content, short-form video, graphics — while sharing the day-to-day work that keeps an MP's office serving its constituents.

What you'll do

  • Own and develop the MP's social media and online presence across channels, producing engaging content including short-form video and simple graphics.
  • Help residents by handling and progressing casework and constituent enquiries, and drafting correspondence.
  • Support local community engagement, events and the office's day-to-day running.
  • Pitch in across the office as part of a close-knit team.

Who we're looking for

  • Demonstrable digital and content skills — social media and short-form video you can show us.
  • Excellent written English and strong organisation.
  • Warmth with the public, sound judgement and discretion with sensitive information.
  • A genuine appetite to help out. No fixed background is required — we appoint on merit.
  • The ability to travel independently across the constituency, for which a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is normally required.
  • A passion for Stoke-on-Trent is very welcome.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Closing Date: 27 July 2026

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held shortly after the closing date. We may interview strong candidates before it, so early applications are encouraged. Start date by agreement. This post is subject to parliamentary vetting, which must be cleared before starting.
