Job Details
Role one: Director of Communications
Main Duties:
- Sharpen, re-focus and communicate a distinctive brand identity for HJS and its associated projects, both in the UK and abroad.
- To lead HJS’s press and public relations work, writing press releases and website copy, identifying new media channels and helping HJS to establish thought leadership in its areas of work.
- Cultivate strong relationships with domestic and international press and media contacts.
- You will develop a ‘new media’ strategy which ensure we remain flexible to where our audiences are and how we are capturing their attention.
- Manage and extend HJS’s network of influencers and media contacts ensuring the highest standards of communication are always maintained.
- You will develop and direct an innovative digital marketing strategy for HJS and all the platforms we currently use, including new channels which we might want to explore (including website development and e-marketing).
- Work with the Events team to develop and expand HJS’s presence at events and conferences, in line with the wider communications strategy, as well as boosting attendance at events through communications improvements.
- Conceptualise, develop and execute PR, marketing and communications material and content to promote the work of HJS to external audiences.
- Represent HJS - where appropriate - as a media spokesperson.
- To maintain a set of effective metrics to measure progress, tracking and monitoring them per their relevancy to current goals as set by management.
- Personally maintain all communications administration including database management, uploading content, metrics reporting, distributions and liaising with suppliers.
Role two: Digital Communications and Social Media Officer
- Develop online visual content including videos and graphics to promote new research papers, other HJS products and forthcoming events.
- Work with the research team to produce explainer videos on current events and ensure efficient turnaround on content.
- Analyse data to inform our content creation and delivery across various social media platforms.
- Assist and manage online and in office events.
- Work with the Director of Communication and policy to design a bespoke strategy across our social media platforms.
- Assist in the development of new graphic branding.
