Simon Lightwood MP is looking for a passionate and proactive Community Engagement and Casework Officer in our Wakefield and Rothwell constituency.

You’ll develop and implement strategies to engage with our local communities, ensuring their voices are heard. You will organise and manage events, meetings, and public appearances for us. Handling correspondence, social media, and press releases to maintain a strong public presence will be part of your role. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including local organisations, businesses, and government bodies, is essential.

You’ll need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. You’ll deal with a wide range of social and policy casework. Strong organisational abilities are crucial, as you will need to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Being proactive and creative, with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative engagement strategies, is important to us. You should be a team player, collaborative, and able to work effectively within a team environment. A genuine interest in politics and community development is essential.
