Working For: Josh Babarinde / Eastbourne Liberal Democrats

Location: Eastbourne

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000, dependant on experience

Job Details

Eastbourne Liberal Democrats are seeking an ambitious, organised and hands-on Campaigns Manager to lead campaigning in one of the party’s strongest constituencies.

Following Josh Babarinde OBE’s election as MP in 2024 and major Liberal Democrat gains in the 2026 East Sussex County Council elections, this is an exciting opportunity to help deliver winning campaigns at a pivotal moment. Elections to a new East Sussex unitary authority are expected in May 2027, with further elections likely over the following years.

Working closely with the MP, councillors, candidates, local party officers and campaign teams, you will develop a constituency-wide electoral strategy and turn it into day-to-day delivery. Responsibilities include campaign planning; voter contact; messaging, literature and targeting; volunteer recruitment and development; fundraising; candidate support; data analysis; training; and supplier management.

We need someone who can think strategically while remaining practical and delivery-focused. You will be highly organised and self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities, build strong relationships and inspire volunteers. You should have experience of delivering complex campaigns, projects or workstreams; excellent communication skills; sound judgement; confident IT and digital skills; and sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.

Experience of political campaigning, working with elected representatives or volunteer-led organisations, delivering training, and using Connect, Lighthouse or Affinity Publisher would be an advantage. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are also desirable.

The role reports to the South East Regional Campaign Manager and offers scope for professional growth and increased responsibility.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and will make reasonable adjustments during recruitment.
