We are looking for a highly organised, professional, and impartial Member Governance Officer to join our Member Governance Team based in our Leeds office.

The Member Governance team is a small but effective team that sits within the wider Member Services Team and plays a crucial role in ensuring the resolution of disciplinary matters relating to Party members. Member Governance Officers are responsible for conducting investigations in accordance with the Party’s Code of Conduct and associated Rules. They make the initial assessments on if a complaint falls under the Code and then manage the progression of the case under the Party’s processes. The role includes the handling and processing of sensitive and sometimes protracted disciplinary matters which must be handled impartially, empathetically, and professionally.

Member Governance Officers must offer support to other colleagues in the handling of disciplinary matters and complaints as well supporting with the work of the Disciplinary Sub-Committee of the Party Board as secretary to hearings. They are responsible for the bulk of the correspondence from the Member Governance Team with them handling dismissals and investigations as well as general correspondence through the complaints management system.

They also provide support to the wider Member Services Team in the handling of day-to-day matters in busy periods or when covering annual leave. They work as the primary support to the Designated Safeguarding Lead on safeguarding matters and administration.
