Wendy Chamberlain MP is looking for a highly motivated, professional individual to join her team as a Communications Officer.
The role involves producing quality written content, whilst promoting parliamentary and constituency activities, and providing a range of communications support in a fast-paced Westminster environment.

Key responsibilities
• Prepare press releases, liaise with the media, meeting deadlines as appropriate.
• Manage and monitor social media ensuring all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and escalating where required.
• Maintaining and updating the MP’s E-newsletter and website.
• Develop engaging and targeted content across a range of platforms.
• Monitor media coverage and identify opportunities to promote the MPs work.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional and national media outlets.
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation.
• Support the MP in her Westminster role when required.
• Support the MP’s priorities and communicate effectively with constituents of all demographics to reflect how her work supports concerns in North East Fife.

• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to engage confidently with a range of audiences and deliver key messages.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently, and as part of a small team.
• Manage competing tasks and respond quickly to the changing political environment.
• Be able to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders both in Westminster and the Constituency.
An understanding of UK parliamentary procedures, government policy, and current affairs is welcomed with an awareness of devolved issues which the MP may reference on behalf of constituents.
Travel to the Constituency may be required and occasional work out with business hours.

Interview/Start Dates
Candidates will be contacted week commencing 31st August 2026 with an update and Interviews will be held early September 2026.
The first Interview may be held virtually, and the second interview in person.
The start date is as soon as possible. Ideally October 2026.
