About The Role

This is a unique and interesting opportunity to work at the heart of the Council’s democratic and political centre. Working in the Leader’s Office, as part of the Council’s Legal and Democratic Services team, you will provide professional, organisational and advisory support to the Labour Party Group.

This is a wide-ranging, stimulating role, providing support, detailed research, analysis, briefings and written reports to the Council Leader, Deputy Leader and wider elected members of the Party.

Due to the nature of the job, it requires a willingness to work flexibly in order to meet priorities and deadlines and includes attending evening meetings and undertaking work outside of normal office hours as required

About You

With your knowledge of the political landscape, you’ll also bring experience of providing expert advice, strong research skills and support to Councillors across a broad range of areas and disciplines.

You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate effective communication, to inform and influence a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders and partners.

Alongside your effective relationship management skills you’ll also have the ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and manage sensitive situations and conflict.

Above all, you’ll share the Council’s values and our commitment to delivering for our borough and our residents.

Benefits of working for us

Royal Greenwich is a great place to live and work. Benefiting from excellent transport links ranging from Crossrail to the Elizabeth line to the Uber boat, we’ve never been better connected.
