Job Details
Jade Botterill MP is looking for a Digital Content and Campaigns Officer to work within her constituency team. The post-holder will lead on managing and formulating campaigns within the constituency, providing social media content and engaging with local stakeholder. They will also maintain social media communications across national, locally and parliamentary landscapes, ensuring clear, consistent messaging and strong engagement with constituents and other key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be based in the constituency office. A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor media and social media activity, identifying trends and opportunities
• Provide proactive communications support for local issue-based campaigns
• Suggest content ideas, formats and trends to grow reach and engagement
• Identify opportunities to turn local issues and casework into campaigns
• Work with the team to support engagement and campaign activity
• Produce and organise the delivery of community surveys which inform the member’s work.
• Analyse feedback and data to inform messaging and priorities
• General office administration.
• Work flexibly, including occasional evenings, weekends or travel
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with IT including all Microsoft Office programmes with experience using mail-merge and spreadsheets.
• Understanding of digital media trends
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• A proactive and creative approach
• Understanding of how communications support campaigning and public engagement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team
• Strong skills and experience in digital content creation and delivery
Desirable:
• Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
• Experience of organising campaigns.
